LEAVE A TRACE. CHANGE THE TIDE.
Less to hold.
More to see.
Slide a ring. Turn a line. Let five quiet stones
become a little victory.
A small guide to YINSH
1 · Set the gardenTake turns placing five rings each on empty intersections. Ivory moves first.
2 · Leave a stoneSelect your ring, then a glowing destination in a straight line. A stone of your color stays behind.
3 · Turn the tideRings cannot jump rings. You may cross empty spaces, then a continuous group of stones, landing immediately after that group. Every crossed stone flips color.
4 · Let go to winMake five stones in a straight line. Choose a row, remove its five stones, then retire any of your rings. Retire three rings to win. Both colors can score from one slide; the moving player resolves rows first.
If all 51 stones are used, or both sides have no legal slide, the player with more retired rings wins; equal scores draw. Tab to a point and press Enter or Space. Arrow keys move focus between board points. Escape clears a selection. H suggests, U undoes. Suggestions and undo are welcome at this relaxed table.
